My business account with Chase was just shutdown. I can't login to my online account, it says it's locked, a guy on the phone told me they made the decision to close it. I've been shutdown by Chase before so it's not surprising, but does anyone know how I can get my statements? The guy told me I need to go to a branch, but since there are no branches near me, I wonder if there is another way to retrieve them.

I was originally shut down 10 years ago for opening too many credit cards. Since then I've been able to reopen here and there but after a few months they catch on a close it again.

I have been shut down many times and have always been able to access my account. Sorry I can't help with this one.

The government puts compliance burdens on banks, and these big banks can afford to shut down anyone who is a compliance risk by their assessment. So in a sense many of these closures are the government’s “fault”.

If they're being coerced it would be very hard to believe that every single point of contact to get a law passed would be forced without anybody trying to fight back.
The only logical option would be the last. But keep in mind it is the lawmakers (nonevil!) choice to create laws that they think would be beneficial.

Can I use the $300 travel credit and then downgrade it.

Agreed, but there should be at least some criterias they should have to follow. While most of the shut downs probably have some cause behind it, others might just be innocent.
