I was hoping someone can give some (helpful!) advice. Last summer I was driving from CT to NY and when passing through the Bronx, I received a speeding ticket. The actual amount above the speed limit I was ticketed for was 11 mph. I plead not guilty initially and delayed the court date, but I realized there was no chance I would be able to travel to NY to be there for my next scheduled court date as I live in Western PA. Last week I plead guilty on line and paid the ticket. What I didn't realize was that they hit me with a six point fine on my license and are charging me $300 for "full driving responsibility assessment" because the violation description was "speed in zone 11-30" and assumed the maximum speed. Is there any way to reduce the points? Get a lawyer and appeal? I'm at a loss of what to do. I have an excellent 20 year driving record otherwise.
