A friend of mine needs to fly from TLV to NYC (JFK preferred) NONSTOP tonight (Thursday Night) for a family emergency.

He wants to use Amex points for the flight. As he does not have a BP I guess that means trying to transfer to an airline partner. I am unfamiliar with this part of the game so I am hoping someone can answer some of these questions ASAP.

1. Should I bother looking for last minute coach TLV-NYC award? Does it ever exist?

2. What airlines are even possible (needs to be instant transfer?, DIRECT flight needed, etc..)?

3. Best place to search, other tips..

All help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the quick response. Elal's site is only showing availability departing Monday.

(Qantas price is same regardless of how many points Elal charges?)

ETA: Monday's flight seems to be PREMIUM (which is why it is more).

Delta is showing availability in Main cabin (N) for tonight at 160,000 one way. ETA: It's 210,000 with a RT.

Why is this so high?

Is this bookable with flying blue? How many points?

Is Amex to FB instant?

Check FlyingBlue, it might show Delta availability and if yes it should be bookable for around 29,000 points (transfers from Amex should be instant, but not always).

You can also check Lifemiles, Aeroplan, or KrisFlyer to see if you can find United availability and if yes book with either of those, all of which will take Amex transfers (though KrisFlyer isn't instant).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Thank you everyone for your help.

FB didn't show Delta availability (probably because Delta only had it at a crazy price).
United didn't show direct except Standard award and I didn't know about all those partners (can you book them on United Standard?).

In the end he had more CSR points than we thought so we booked Elal using Chase points.
