Not necessarily. The premium benefits on the Preferred come at the expense of the annual fee, not better credit.
They both require a minimum 5k CL and as long as the APR rates are the same then getting approved will probably be the same
I know a few people with little to no credit history who qualified for SP.
Well, apparently, my imagination has (possibly) led me astray.
