Which credit card to use

Help! My brain is about to explode.  Apologies if it has been asked before.
Need some advice.
Paying for a vacation out of the country. Condo rental charges a 6%surcharge for using our American Express.
 Which would be a better choice to use -Citi AA, Bank of America Cash Rewards,   Barclay cashback, Chase United or Barclay Jetblue card (Jetblue flights were charged to that card)

Can being denied a card ruin your credit further?
 Any way to get a mileage card if your credit rating is only fair?
