I see the random interviews of people on the street. When more people know Kim kardashian than who the VP or defense secretary is or they can't even name the 3 branches of government, that doesn't bode well.

Whatever most people believe, I don't think that makes it sound "nuts" and it clearly is the purpose of the 2nd amendment. Anyone with half a brain knows it's not for hunting and anyone with three quarters of a brain knows it wouldn't be such an important amendment (number 2!) if it were for self defense. He is quite clear in the video that he doesn't think it's a direct concern today, but that the right must be preserved so that it doesn't become a concern in the future. In addition, if we go by what most people think, then if Ben would have been talking about abortion and said that a woman shouldn't have the right to choose whether to kill her child, most people would disagree with him as well. I don't think that he would sound nuts over it.

It's not a random right - "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

You've italicized "free" which I suppose means you think that the right to bear arms is only necessary in a free state, but not in an oppressive state.

Yes, I'm sure that is what they meant. Which explains why the right currently exists only in red states but not in blue states.
