Why are frum people republicans

I'd answer the original question in classic jewish form by asking another question - Does La Marais have good food because lots of peole go there, or do lots of people go to La marais because they have good food?

The reason that most jews are republicans is because we have a religion based on values that are laid out to us in the Torah and we continue to build on those values via our practices and studies. Liberals decide what they feel based on there feelings, not based on their values. So even if it makes sense to eat meat (yes, not ALL liberals are vegetarians, but many veggies ARE liberal), they will allow themselves to be disgusted by the thought.
Conservatives are more realistic and reasonable. Short and simple.

Answer to 1 & 2 is no. They go there because where else are you getting a steak in manhattan for under $40

The point is that they choose to go to La Marais because they've decided they like what they'll get there.

People who choose to listen to rush limbaugh (I'm not the biggest fan, personally), do so because they are already conservatives, and like what he has to say.

I doubt that there are many people who listen to him and say "whoa! If I had know all that, I would never have voted for obama!"

And you think that most people's political opinions are based on the radio shows they listen to?

By the time most people are old enough to care enough to listen to talk radio, they already have a pretty strong direction in regard to values and political beliefs. This is probably based largely on the influence of family, community, friends, and personal heroes. In the religious community, these influences are pretty strongly conservative.

As I mentioned, I don't like Rush Limbaugh for various reasons. Onne of the reasons i don't like him is that he is divisive, which is the very thing he accuses liberals of being.

That said, Rush is generally divisive over real issues, as opposed to liberals and the drive-by media, who search for issues to divide people with (taking the recent example of Hank Williams being accused of comparing Obama to Hitler. If you hear the sound clip, it's clear that's not what's happening).

If thats your argument then everybody should be conservative because there isn't much Liberal talk radio anywhere in the country (The last big one, Air America shut down a few years ago). That's just the way it is conservatives listen to talk radio and liberals watch Anderson Cooper and Jon Stewart.

jews from the last 2 generations have been mostly democrats and liberals and it is only the last 15 years that frum ppl have been republicans
the democratic values fly in the face of torah values
gay marriage, abortion etc

I should point out that I'm a registered democrat - but that's only so that I can vote in their primary elections.

a lot of jews are registered democrats to vote in primaries but in the general election the frum ppl have started to vote republicans because their politics have aligned recently with frum ppl values

frum jews will vote with whoever they think is better for them they wont always follow the party line so that explains reagan its just that more recently bush, mcain, 2012 the republicans are more aligned with frum jews because most frum jews are more conservative
