Delayed & rebooked AA flight – advice?
« on: June 20, 2019, 08:58:47 PM »
So, I booked AA222 for tonight (LGA-ORD) to be in Chicago for Shabbos in First using Avios. This afternoon, I got an email that it was canceled.

After a ton of HUCAs, I was able to get myself an itinerary in economy 5:45 am LGA-CMH and 12:06 pm CMH-ORD.

1) is there any chance I could still get rebooked on a nonstop at airport?
2) is it risky checking bags on this flight if I need stuff for Shabbos?
2a) what would AA reimburse me as a result of delayed baggage?
3) any type of comp I can request (once I arrive in ORD in one piece be"H)

Thanks for any advice.

A few weeks ago in economy I kindly asked them to rebook me on United when there were no direct flights. It was also for a night flight and told them I can’t stay overnight as I only went for the day. Don’t expect any comp.

Thanks for the DP. Well, they did downgrade my service level so is there anything there that can be sorted out?

Rebooked in AA revenue class and got full redeposit from BA. Not bad though I'm nervous about taking American after something like this.

I have a 10:30 am flight on a Friday at the end of August LGA-ORD, do I have what to be nervous about?
