Best siddur?
For nusach Ari, I'm very happy with the new ones produced by Kehos. Razor sharp and functional. I downloaded and use both versions. IIRC they were 1.99 each. Considering the work that went in to producing them and the quality of the product I was happy to fork out the $3.98 for both of them.

Just my $.02, I feel like Rusty Brick is a company we should support.

I was a big Rusty Brick fan, but they fell out of favor with me.
They make good apps, but they basically stopped supporting the Siddur app.
In the App Store they promise constant updates- "...it is Rusty Brick's flagship product. We constantly update it, almost every week".

Meanwhile, they updated the app just 4-5 times since the end of last November, with an 8 month dry spell in between.
There are still some adjustments that need to be made to the text, and the new iOS 8 update has terrible navigation.

Bottom line, $10 is expensive for an app that is on the back burner.

I have to really disagree with you! The rb siddur app has always been the by far the most easy to use/read fully featured (minyanim, zmanim. Tefillin mirror,etc..) iphone siddur.

And has now gotten a complete makeover for ios 8 that imo is great and well worth the $10!

No other siddur is usable compared to the rusty brick one.

Disagree with what?
They haven't updated the app every week or every month or even every 2 months. Nothing to disagree about.
Facts are facts, check the version history.

Regarding the price, yes I agree it's the best app (as I posted earlier), though that doesn't mean it's worth paying any price for it.
IMHO, $10 is too expensive for a back-burner app that still has issues. I also think that push alerts should be included for that price, not an additional in-app purchase.

While the first few times I emailed with feedback they responded and fixed things, the previous time (this year) they just ignored.

Just came across this:

If you have an iPhone and are annoyed by the free U2 album that Apple so kindly gave everybody, you can easily remove it from your iTunes account.

Simply go to itunes.com/soi-remove,
Click Remove Album,
Enter your iTunes login information,
Done  :)

Can anyone recommend a good voice recording app for long speeches. Looking for for one that lets you adjust quality so it shouldnt take up too much space.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

This actually looks pretty sweet. From what I see though it is only usable from within the web browser which makes it a bit annoying. An App would be great.

I'm pretty sure that they say that they are a non for profit so I'm guessing that it will be free.

Or it could be that they won't make an app and keep it in Web format.

App + free would be awesome.

Worst case its just web based which is definitely much worse in comparison but still pretty nice.

Not for profit means the corporation is not designed to generate a profit, but that doesn't mean the people that work for them are all volunteers. NFP corporations can hVe enormous operating budgets. Imagine they have just one full time employee putting everything together, and they need to generate enough income to cover hardware, software, maintenance and a full time salary....

I bought this app text2group 99 cents to text my shul updates.
It works great for making groups, templates and is far better than using the iOS sms app and better than getting everyone to sign up for Twitter.
