How about putting the real lyrics on the YouTube versions?
JJ's suggestion, I've been reluctant but I'm considering it
Gotta get those view counts up. How do you get the Twitter folks over to YouTube?
It's tough I've been promoting YT on twitter but don't want to overdo it either and annoy my twitter followers

Have a song coming out soon especially with so many baseball people together physically at winter meetings hoping I get lucky and it spreads a little

IIRC it's been suggested upthread to embed the YT video in twitter

My concern there is worse experience, no autoplay, less priority in feed algorithms. What I've kind of settled on for now is tweeting a shorter version of the video with a link to youtube for a longer version in the tweet. We'll see how this does for a bit.

The thing about switching to YouTube is that it's a complete relaunch, you're not just building up, you need a new video to go "viral".

Personally, I prefer when the songs sound more like the real lyrics than the players names, and I think as you've gone on you've moved more towards the players names being the focus.

But hey, what do I know? You made it this far without my 2c

New song is up and it has lyrics at the bottom @jj1000

If y'all can take a second to like and add a comment I'd appreciate it (anything works even "lol" "so talented" or "cool vid man")

Can you elaborate?

Some of the names sound nothing like the lyrics. Like in the latest, "Romine Mead Matt Stairs Hood.." Matt Stairs just doesn't sound like "that there's" to me, and it kinda. My personal preference would be for you to switch in and out of the real and baseball lyrics, like you did the first ones, where it is as if you're humming the song and getting mixed up with the baseball players, not that you sat down and tried for hours to squeeze them in. Of course, anyone watching knows that's what you did, but I think the causal mixing up sounds better.

Again, this is not to knock anything you've done, it's amazing. And I certainly could be colossally wrong about all of it, it's just my opinion and my attempt at constructive comments.

Thank you for the feedback. I actually agree. In fact, that's why there were so many minor leaguers in this video. I am trying to prioritize best audible match over anything else. It's possible I didn't do a great job of that though. But in the case of Matt Stairs, both "that" and "there" are among the harder words to match for. I use a lot of Jeff Datz for "that", but that's the thing too - unless it's an exact repeat of a full chunk (like a chorus) I don't like reusing names in the songs either b/c I feel like that could get kind of lame.

I don't know about feed algorithms, but I absolutely despise twitter's video player.

Thanks for the tip, I barely use reddit and not so familiar. But someone else doing baseball content who has been very successful mentioned Reddit to me too when I reached out. I'll have to look into it.

What don't you like about it? Driving to youtube is even worse b/c it's asking people to take a step. I've had success going viral via twitter and don't want to lose that.

If you want to get baseball writers into it, you gotta cover Springstein

What don't you like about it?
It's slow & unresponsive. i.e. it seems to freeze up every time I try to change my position in the video.
How it decides when to start a video muted doesn't always make sense to me. I understand starting it muted if it just autoplays, but if I click a video I would think it should always play with sound.
Probably the thing that drives me the most crazy is how it mutes the video when I scroll away from the video.

And, when it finally does play with sound, and you open up a new tab to scroll while the audio continues to play, it loops endlessly.

Just an idea, If you can create a song with either all or mainly one particular team's players, you can have someone post it to that team's subreddit and hopefully get a lot of views if they like it.
