As someone who actually went on non- kosherica cruises (and suffered with the food), allow me to guess on some notable differences:

1. Expanded menu options to choose from
2. Borenstein catered food vs xxx
3. Each meal will consist of a first course, main course, two additional side dishes and dessert
4. Wine on shabbos
5. Will likely be easier obtaining unopened/uncut food stuff from kitchen

I was on the RCL harmony of the seas recently and we had Bornstein Meals. Some of the food was fine, most of it though truly is terrible, just flat out terrible. Most of the side dishes were disgusting where you actually question who is making the food in the kitchen and saying "Yeah, this is pretty good". The issue with these cruises become is that most the choices is fleishig and you know what? Most people don't want to be fleishig from lunchtime on for 7 days. I am curious what the expanded menu options will be but ultimately if it's Bornstein, FORGET IT!!

The hot dogs in a pretzel bun were delish though!!!

I can't even imagine how bad the food was before if Borenstein is considered an upgrade.
(Maybe they were serving cod liver )

For free?
One mashgiach watching over fresh food for 60 people on a boat is a joke. Would take a staff to accomplish.

The article suggested that you could have shifts among passangers with everyone doing 1 meal throughout the cruise. I don't thibk he understands how much that won't work.

from NCL

It has always been average quality kosher food with a surcharge. Now we have purchased the catering from a much higher end vendor and there no additional cost for the menu. It is still served pre-packaged but the food itself is much better.

Does anyone have feedback regarding the kosher upgrade package from Norwegian Cruise Line and whether it was good?

Isn't it Borenstein KSMLs?
Can't imagine eating that for days on end.
