How to cancel nonrefundable flights and not have charge return to original card

I want to cancel a flight that someone else paid for but I don't want the money to go back on their card. Instead I want either a voucher from the airline or the money to come to me.

I am flying Alaska if that helps. I am not worried about change fees because I can offset them with the Citi Prestige airline credit.
