Austrian business or Continental coach
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:00:37 PM »
I can either fly Austrian business from tlv-nyc for $1900 worth of miles (120000 onepass = about $1900) or coach direct on CO for $999 - any thoughts, opinions? I'd appreciate feedback on Austrian's business class - can anyone give me a report (flying tlv-nyc)?

edit: What about business on LOT? any experiences?

one and a half        it's a 3-3 config i believe, with the middle seats roped off

the service is supposed to be very nice though, even on the inter-europe flights

the vie-nyc leg is a angled flat seat, pretty standard biz class i believe.   probably nicer than delta... not as nice nice as co or the new swiss

I flew on Austrian the 777 JFK to VIE was nicer than Elal business but I got a 767 from vie to TLV all in all was very nice I personally would tell you to make a stop in Vienna on your way. It is a beautiful city. Maybe see if you could get Luftansa for the return or Swiss.

Vie: small airport, bad lounges,
Austrian airlines business: same small chicken meal all meals out of vie (breakfast+dinner), small seat on 777, old and narrow.

If you go into Vienna - Take the bus - cheap round fare direct to Jewish area.

I thought the upstairs lounge was very nice. Very nice shower, and was always empty as most ppl went downstairs

If you book using miles, make sure you take advantage of your free one-way to go to HNL, or somewhere else a distance away.
