hopefully this will be easier for you. i set it up that you have the freedom, ink bold (w/ checking), ink classic, spg and sp. i also valued each spg at 2.3 cents and each ur at1.9. now just type in a purchase under a category

It looks cool, but it's missing some things, like SP offers 2 points per $1 spent on travel and dining.

Didn't work for me. Could be it's because I use the Office 2003 Compatibility Pack to convert it so I can open it with Office '03.

I doubt it. Its a simple SUM formula.

At the SP line, I didn't see the factoring 2x for dining and travel, what cell should I be looking at to see that?

I put $100 into dining, and it told me to use the Freedom card (it was the default, and didn't change when I put $100 in dining).

the formula is "IF(A7="X",SUM((B2:AC2,C2,D2,E2,F2,G2,H2,I2,J2,K2))*(1.07),0)" so the first point is included in B2:AC2 and the second is C2

thats because freedom has 5% for dining now. try putting 100 into travel

I stand corrected. I commend your Excel erudition, I'm probably going to learn a thing or two from how you coded this spreadsheet.

Would you believe this was the first time I used excel? Look what a little boredom and playing around can do :)

hard to say, I did it in bits and pieces. just browsing through and familiarizing myself with some of excels functions took some time as did looking up the card details

Keep in mind that for lodging, a starwood business card with OPEN, which gives 5% back for certain hotels (I don't recall which ones) PLUS  the usual 1 point per dollar spent may well be a more worthwhile card to use over SP which gives 2 points but no cash back.

Bubbles, the Excel spreadsheet is very cool now that I have it working.

I would add the Open Savings categories for AMEX Business cards like SPG Business or Open Gold.
Also have to figure out how to adjust Freedom and Ink Bold if people do or don't have Chase checking.
And have to figure out how to adjust Ink Bold up to 1.5/1.65/1.675 ppd based on if you plan on spending $25K/$50K/$100K in a 12 month period.

Don't give the guy a hard time, for an Excel n00b he did an amazing job.

Let me know what the OPEN savings are and can add it no problem
Thats an easy fix
Also I can add that in but you would have to know ahead of time that you plan on spending that much. Don't think I can make it track your spending easily

Yup, I noticed that warning.
