Do you know someone that made a claim with travelers that went smooth ? Officially it’s rated pretty much the lowest out of all the insurances from what I saw with a quick Google search.

I wouldn't recommend Travelers either...
But Travelers is better than allstate.

In nj try
Kingstone
Ngic
Nj skylands
Homesite

If you are willing to pay more try
Natgen premier
Ironshore

State Farm has paid out like a slot machine, but they are not the cheapest.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Have to tell this story funny story. 4th of July and had a 10x20 standard 8 pole tent up. It was not anchored down, and we didn't take it down because we were all hammered. Early morning, we had high winds and it blew up on my neighbor's roof destroying the tent. It also ruined a small section of his gutter. State Farm paid for the tent with no issue but claimed my neighbor's damage was his insurances responsibility since it was an act of G-d. Of course, I had my answer ready from when a tree fell on our fence. I told him it was due to neglect for me not anchoring down the tent. He said not to say that. I told him I just did so write him a check. He wrote it out for the $500 limit. My neighbor couldn't stop laughing.

Thank you
I got a quote from NJ skylands about the same as Allstate and travelers through my mortgage bank and I thought they were an off brand so I didn’t even look into it.

Can we have the second half of the story? What happened on renewal?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

First, welcome back!

Second, is yours the normal range for South Florida? Is this for a condo? A private house?

Private house. FL insurance ranges a lot depending on a ton of factors. My cost may be a little cheaper than other houses of similar age/circumstances down here. I'm also a little under insured, since I haven't adjusted the coverage in 3 years.
