I guess that's more damaging, but I still don't think, given the momentum, trajectory, and distance, that it would result in loss of life.
A bag of grenades :P or any basic homemade bomb, you get the point. Just don't think that'd exist in the US for good reason.

There are plenty of things that can be carried on a man's shoulder that can do quite a bit of damage...

Yes, a shoulder-launched missile could result in serious loss of life. But then, one doesn't need SXM for that.

It is a fact of aviation that planes take off and land...

Even though I don't think it'll happen: Climb Mount Everest
Bungee jumping
Sledding expedition
Blue Laggon in Iceland
Visit Volcano
Throw a dart at a map and travel wherever it lands
Antarctica
Real deal white water rafting tour
African Safari
Devils pool in Zambia
Even though the "heavenly stairs" seems awesome, I don't know if I could really do it. (Haven't seen anyone on DDF do it)

Many more things that Id like to do but I can always amend the list going forward..

Heh, just places in this thread.
You can start a non-destination bucket thread if you'd like.

Unless you can lug a 2,000 pound boulder 250 feet in the air, you're not going to do much damage.

And, whatever you could do with your hand, or even a gun C'V, it likely wouldn't do much, as the plane on final approach, just feet from landing.
You don't watch enough action movies

its super cool, been dying to go for yrs

+10k. Been on my bucket list forever (just not in my top 10).

to that 1 spot or the whole island
judging by AJK's past excursions, he would deplane, go to the beach for a half hour, and get on the next flight out

I would do that in a heartbeat.

To anyone interested in doing that, make sure that your timing coincides with the arrival of KLM's 747. That's the most epic landing of the day.

Not to poop on your parade, but...

- Look up what summiting Everest looks like these days and let me know if you're still interested. It's unbelievable what's going on there.

- The Blue Lagoon is the biggest tourist trap mankind has ever devised. Iceland, hell yeah! But skip the BL and see the real amazing things.

Happy to switch that up with something like the northern lights or Gullfoss.

In regards to Mount Everest: I wont lie, from all the documentaries I saw K2 would interest me more anyways :)

I was speaking to a professional mountaineer who told me that real mountain climbers don't even do Everest anymore, the place is essentially a tourist trap for wealthy guys who have no clue what they are doing and basically pay Sherpas to carry them up and too many of them end up staying on the mountain for good...

In no particular order:

1. South Africa (CPT/Kruger/VF)
2. New Zealand
3. Maldives or Bora Bora
4. Australia (SYD/GBR)
5. Brazil (GIG/Amazon)
6. DMZ
7. Thailand (CNX/BKK/KOH)
8. Dubai
9. Northern Lights
10. Hawaii (OGG/KOA/LNY)

Once I got my pictures of the Northern Lights in Iceland, I put the camera down and just watched the show.
And what a show that was! What an absolutely incredible night...

If I had to choose a number 1, one place I want to go to / see more than all others, I think it would be Area 51. I've been kinda intrigued / obsessed ever since the first article or documentary I saw years (decades?) ago. (No, I don't believe there are aliens there.)

But other than that:
Not quite narrowed down to only ten. In (more or less) alphabetical order:

Africa (Serengeti/Wildebeest migration, Kruger)
Alaska (Drive the Dalton Highway, watch the Grizzlies feeding)
Amazon rain Forest / Iguazu falls (I think these are totally separate, but somebody upthread combined them, so I will too)
Antarctica
Australian Outback
Banff/Jasper (I can't even count how many trips I had planned here but every time it ended up not happening for some reason.)
Canadian Ice Roads (Does this even count as a place?)
Climb Mt. Whitney (Not quite as sexy as K2 or Everest, but this I actually intend to do sometime within the next few years.)
New Zealand
Sahara Desert
the Alps

I would include Hawaii, but I already have a trip planned

Iceland / Northern Lights - done! (though I'm not quite sure why "Northern Lights" is a destination...)
Cross-USA road trip -done x9!!

Also
What I really want to go see is the Trinity test site in the white sands missile range. Unfortunately they only have public tours two days a year and always on Shabbos :(

9 times??? WOW! different routes? What made you want to do this 9 times?

Like the idea of the Ice roads similar to me wanting to do a dog sled expedition. Just beware of the thin ice.
