many stores wont take amex for a small purchase of $10. so to open up on ms and hire extra work ect...they might not end up with any profit.  i would guess that some stores that open just bc of sbs,this year wont hassle.

I have a delta gold and starwood with annual fee due around end of November. I originally was going to add many users to pay off the fee with lots left over. This year since they reduced the amount to $10 its does not seem worth it to keep the cards. However, I want to know if I use the cards to get the $10 credit, will amex let me cancel them right after so I can avoid the annual fee (and keep the $10).

If you want to do that, why don't you get the AU cards as well?

I would have to open up many cards just to pay off the annual fee. I already have a few AU what I want to know is can I use the card and then cancel them after using them. [With other cards (not amex) they would not let me close the card saying their was activity on the card so I had to leave it open till 60 days went by without activity]. Does AMEx have the same policy?

I tried opening 5 AU to my starwood business (all family members). They are giving me problems because they are not employees.
Any advice on what to tell them to get the AU cards approved?

I would love to be wrong on this. So if I have 10 AU's on each of my 5 Amex cards, I just register the primary (me) from each card,on the SBS website and all 50 cards can be swiped on Nov 30?

Did anybody see if Fedex is going to run the promotion of giving out free giftcards for SBS as they have done in the [ast 2 years?
