As I've mentioned elsewhere the charge is processed as "Square...." And I don't know if square counts as a small business

So why wouldnt misc/specialty retail be considered a small business

Also I havent been following the square discussion but why is a store using them and not a regular cc processor

thats just the category. the chrge though is from square and therefore not from a small business you

Also do you know why he is using square if he has a regular storefront?

Cleaners? AFAIK its a cofee shop (yes I know its a weird name for a cofee shop

its actually a coffee shop. and he's using square because he does lots of small charges so %2.75 is cheaper then traditional offerings that also charge monthly and per swipe fees also no startup costs. Obviously in a high traffic environment it isn't practical because it lack speed and POS integration but for now it is his cheapest option.

not so weird, i only make my coffee in a french press! ( for the uninitiated this is a glass pitcher with a built in filter, you place your grinds on the bottom and add water, press down and pour your coffee!)

How do you know what is considered a small business? Any non- chain type of store? Pizza shop? Local drug store (non chain?)
