If you are ever in pittsburgh there is a dry cleaners called Nulife that dry cleans all religious items for free for example, Tzitzis and tallis...

Slightly OT, when we are done with a pai of Tzitzis, does the whole thing need to go into Shaimos, or just the strings? I've heard someone say the latter, what you guys do?

Neither HAS to go into sheimos - the strings just should be put into a bag, for kavod, before throwing out. If you WANT to put them into sheimos, you can, but I would imagine that it's just the strings - the beged is just an article of clothing.

You're sure? I have had an old pair of tzitzis waiting for me to find a shaimos bin for months... if this is true, I'll just wrap it up in a bag...

I'm pretty sure, but I'd feel better if someone else weighs in. Otherwise, I'll try to verify later today.

This used to be the norm, back when religion was revered in America.

Just double bag it and throw it in the garbage.
