judaica stores sell s/t called a tzitzis bag for washing which is dupposed to keep strings good I havent had much success but could be im not using it right bec. i know ppl that are very happy with it.

Slightly OT, when we are done with a pai of Tzitzis, does the whole thing need to go into Shaimos, or just the strings? I've heard someone say the latter, what you guys do?

Neither HAS to go into sheimos - the strings just should be put into a bag, for kavod, before throwing out. If you WANT to put them into sheimos, you can, but I would imagine that it's just the strings - the beged is just an article of clothing.

You're sure? I have had an old pair of tzitzis waiting for me to find a shaimos bin for months... if this is true, I'll just wrap it up in a bag...
