Philo Streaming TV sharing
« on: April 23, 2019, 03:27:41 PM »
Hi,

https://try.philo.com/

Philo TV will be increasing their prices to $20 starting on May 6 (If we subscribe before then, we will remain at current $16 monthly price).  The service has 3 concurrent streams.  I am looking for 2 interested people to split the $16 plus tax package with me.  I prefer that you live in the US or if you are outside the US, you need to have a high quality Vpn that can stream from a US server.  We will run a test first before any payment is made to make sure it works for everyone.  Once confirmed, then we split the cost and instead of monthly payments I prefer 1 year payment up front, something around $6 x 12 months = $72.  It has unlimited DVR that can be viewed over a 30 day period.  Current supported devices are:  Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, PC using a browser, Mac using a browser, Android using Chrome browser, IOS using their mobile app.
Here is the channel lineup:

It's a niche product but this is how it keeps its prices low.  Youtube TV, Sling, DirecTV Now are all much higher.

Is this hard wired or a subscription like Netflix, Hulu, etc?
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

This is a monthly subscription like Netflix that you can cancel at any time.  However since their monthly rates are increasing to $20 on May 6, any existing subscriber that has the $16 rate will stay at that rate unless they cancel their subscription.

May 6 price increase will be here soon and I guess most people aren't interested.  I get it, it is a very niche product but hopefully they can add more channels in the future, more competition is always good.  If anyone wants to use this as a Master thread that's fine.  I only wanted this as a backup but I already have multiple subscriptions and will pass with the price increase.
