Cathay Pacific (CX)
« on: July 24, 2019, 02:35:28 PM »
Surprised that there is no master thread yet on CX.

Tip for anyone booked into CX F Long Haul on the 777-300ER: Seats 2A & 2K are blocked off from online seat selection. Seat 2A seems to be the best seat option due to the wall privacy. To book it you can either call Cathay or reach out to them via Twitter.

This even works on intra Asian flights on 3 class 777s. They block F cabin but J passengers can reserve F seats by doing the above. Only j soft product though.

Did it recently, they seem to block it for no good reason.

Trying to book bkk - tlv (will be bkk-hkg-tlv)3 adults 1 infant. Does that need to be booked over the phone? Will it be 40k each in j? & how much is taxes & fees including infant?

Is it possible to book usm - tlv with them (same usm-hkg-tlv) they do have flights from usm - hkg but whenever I search get some error about too many segments.

That USM-HKG never shows because it’s actually I believe Bangkok Airways codeshared as Cathay Dragon flight and they aren’t OneWorld partners. I used Flying Blue miles and booked that flight direct HKG-USM on Bangkok Airways.

Not sure this is the right place to ask but anybody know how long it takes for QF to send etickets to CX. Booked about 2 hours ago, just called to select seats & they said if they don’t receive etickets by the end of the day booking will be cancelled. QF does show the etickets.

You have to contact QF and have them issue the tickets.

For F you should be able to bring a guest, for J, it's just the passenger. Award ticket does not make a diff AFAIK. See details here: https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_US/travel-information/airport/lounges/all-lounges-admittance.html

I'd advise against it. It's on deathwatch.

Have a layover in HKG for CX F. Can I get ksml in any of the  lounges?
Should I call?

Also, is there a thread that discusses the HKG lounges?

Yes. In any lounge you want, DM them on Twitter.
