+1 - bumped into it by accident. I think this should travel by word of mouth though

In Jerusalem - Modern in the Israel Museum is a new amazing restaurant. Beats Keyara IMHO, and cheaper. Hechsher is now OU mehadirin, but there have been rumors of them removing the kashers soon.
Just to let you know OU standards here in E"Y are not the same as in the states. Many times they will just add their Hashgacha if there is a Rabbanut there from before. Hechsherim are very complicated here and I recommend research into a place before visiting.

Well they are a subsidiary of the OU, & OU in the US obviously relies on them, so one way or another we all eat their stuff.

Well the OU in America strongly disagrees with you. According to Rabbi Elefant The head of kashruth for the OU the level of kashruth in Israel is the same as in America.

Mitzvos Hateluyos Baaretz (Teruma, Maaser, Shmitta, Orla, etc..) is one of the reasons that people are more machmir when it comes to hechsherim in Eretz yisroel. For instance, the OU infamously relied on the heter mechira for shemitta (although they don't anymore). So even if their standards are comparable to the US, many people opt not to rely on them due to that reason.

My point is that even  if it were as good as in the US, still many people would hesistate for that reason.

If you rely on the OU in the US, and they rely on the OU in Israel, you are eating stuff supervised by the OU in Israel. So IMHO either you trust the global directorship of the OU, or don't trust any of them.
The only thing I can hear is if you try to be more Machmir while in EY, but then don't eat American OU products either.

Actually you shouldn't eat any processed food if you don't eat OU in the US.  Every hechsher out there allows OU products as ingredients in products they put a hechsher on.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I don't know anything about this, but I don't think the Bdatz Eida Charedis relies on the OU.
