anyone know if in state of ny if you need to buy liability insurance? my credit card covers LDW and have USAA

The NYS minimum is $2K. USAA should cover you however there is 5K deductible.

The 5k deductible is for damage to the Hertz vehicle, and the minimum for property in NY is 10k not 2.

if my card covers the LDW than i dont pay at all for the hertz vehicle and usaa covers only 10K for liability, is it worth buying the liability for $13 a day? is there any card that also covers the liability?

I'd say it does. Put it this way, if you get into an accident, there i'd say there is a large chance of the damage exceeding 10K. But YMMV>

You'll need to hand them in, won't be able to put them on the reservation

Can anyone confirm that If I book from a different country (like Switzerland which comes with insurance) and something happens that Hertz will cover? I would think they would because at the end of the day the contract says included in rate and nothing about Switzerland, however I have heard that Hertz Terms and Conditions say that if you give any wrong info the contract is void. Now when you book from Swiss the only billing country option is Swiss, so you are automatically giving false info. Any input?

Failure to provide such substantiation may invalidate the rates you have been quoted, or invalidate the entire reservation. Providing false information to Hertz in connection with this reservation would also breach your rental agreement and could violate the law.

However they still make you choose your country, and there is only one option, Switzerland

So they are saying that they can ask you... but what if they didnt and let the you take the car and you now have a contract...
