It's a 1-year membership that starts right away, but doesn't expire until a year after the store opens. I drove by the construction site 2 days ago, and I'd guess they're at least 2 months away from opening. So it's probably more like a 14-month membership.
The location is within a half-mile of both Costco and Sam's stores.
I shop regularly at Costco, but I've never been to BJs. If I already have a Costco membership, is BJs also worthwhile?
