Okay, another n00b (to the Daily Getaways, at least) question. I tried searching the forums, but didn't find the answer for this:
I'm trying to reserve a Premium out of ORD starting tomorrow afternoon for two days on Avis.com, and it's pricing at a whopping $411.89 - base rate $289.98, taxes and surcharges $121.91. The back of the vouchers say I am responsible for taxes, concession recovery fees, etc. etc. etc. Is this for real? Does that mean that besides for the coupons, I still have to pay $121.91?!
Also, I seem to recall reading here on DDF that there is a "workaround" for getting your credit card to cover CDW/TP - i.e. since CC coverage requires that you pay for the rental on the CC, someone (I think it was Dan) had some kind of mehalech whereby you give the necessary info for the coupons, but don't actually submit them until the end of the rental - so if there was damage, you can keep the coupons and pay for the rental with the CC, and file a claim with the CC insurance. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
TIA!
