FYI. So just rented yesterday in chicago and the rep told me on the phone to bring my Costco card to verify the discount. When I came I said it was a first for me and said I rented in FL 2 weeks ago and they didn't card me. She said there is a push in the Chicago area and they must wrote down the member/id numbers to verify the discount. If you can't verify they will remove it.

I would imagine that the coupon code used for the reservation was not the same as printed on the coupon.. correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, did they notice and take it anyway, or did they simply not realize?

I think it's the same code year to year. So it prob was the same code. My husband was the one who gave it to them. I think they didn't look at all.

The truth is, we did pay for the coupon but just didn't get a chance to use it

when I tried using one in ORD, they didn't even let me using a current one. did the AWD on reservation match the one on the coupon?

I tried using a few coupon codes from the wiki and they are all expired.
Does anyone have some coupons codes that are not expired or AWD that will get me cheaper rate?

How long are you renting for?
What location and car size?

The codes you tried may in fact still be valid, but expire at the end of the year. Typically, rental car companies release new coupon codes quarterly. You can make a reservation now without a coupon code, and modify (or make a new reservation later).
But are you looking for Avis only? other agencies are cheaper for that time/location.

I prefer Avis because of the Avis First status, but would be open to others.
