Looks like they charged me TN sales tax plus the NYC metro tax (basically cherry picked the highest taxes of each...). Good to know that returning in NYC incurrs the fee.

Does anyone know if its possible to rent with Avis in JFK for 20 year old without paying the "$110 per day plus tax" young driver surcharge?
When searching with correct date of birth the price for 10 days is around $600 and no mention of any additional fees but when clicking on "details" on the page with the car it says minimum age 18 and that under age fee (110 per day!) will apply, but this doesn't actually come up on the total price. So will i still be charged this on pick up? I have completed and paid for a booking without paying this already.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I like to rent multi month without having to go back every month to renew Should I reserve one long and would like to use cc insurance. Should I make each month’s reservation separately or one long reservation? Would they split it for me ?

Any Avis rental over 30 days is automatically classified as a mini-lease.
You might want to do more research on the legality of the insurance, as I'm not 100% sure about that.

To get into their "aisle" I book a mid size like I would in Hertz and national?

Do you get a 2 class upgrade or can choose anything in the PC aisle if you book midsize?

If you are worried about booking with this code, you could use a site like orbitz.com that allows you to search for car rentals - then click additional options and add the AWD under corporate code. This way it will look (to avis) like it is a normal booking that just came thru the GDS from orbitz as is.

Through Priceline but won’t change the price you see and on the contrary it comes up as the code you put in. Not a workaround for this. This method can be used for other things though, like better pricing through the OTA (or autoslash). Basically definitely not a workaround and even in 2019, it showed up the code you input. It’s one of those dumb comments that just don’t make any sense. When modifying any booking you can see what was used even if it did alter pricing.

theres no ''pc aisle'' in avis they give you a pre arranged spot with a 2 class upgrade which wont give you much unless you keep on reloading the app... and hope something decent pops on
I one time took a car from a random spot in avis at the airport and the lady let me out i realized after that  was driving someone else rental as i never got charged when i returned the car i asked for copy of the contract becouse i never got the email she kept on pulling up someone else name
