Credit Card Consolidation
« on: October 10, 2011, 03:01:50 PM »
I think I'm going to close Chase Continental. If I tranfer credit line to other Chase card, will I get a credit pull?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

you mean move it to an existing chase card?
Then maybe you'll get a soft pull but no hard one.

For Clarity If a soft pull doesnt't affect credit score is there and down side?

Soft pulls do not have any effect on your credit report and therefore have no effect on your credit score. So, unless I am missing something, there is no "down" side. (FYI, soft pulls on your credit report happen all the time, especially from people who have extended you credit in the past.)

There's an upside, enough soft pulls (80+) and you might be able to bump some hard pulls of your Equifax and TU reports.

I think they are both NPSL's so it won't make a difference just ,move it to where you may need it

No Preset  Spending Limit
Basically that usually means that they're not reporting your CL to the bureau, So in this case, moving the credit to either card won't show up as additional credit on your report
