I Survived Long Haul in Y
« on: August 06, 2019, 04:46:45 PM »
I'll start:

JFK-TLV on DL (booked with VS)
PRG-EWR on UA (booked with UA)

wasn't so terrible. I don't have unlimited miles and would consider traveling Y more often if it allowed for more vacations.

EWR-TLV on UA roundtrip with kids - was last minute trip and there was no availability with any program in J.

I suspect plenty of people here survived this long haul route in Y  ;D

Damn, I knew this was coming, and I knew who it was coming from.
I am super grateful to have never flown longer than 5 hours in Y.

I would venture likelihood is you do.

longer this game goes around harder these flights will become to find and more expensive points wise.

plus when you start booking more seats these points can disappear fast

I think my last international long-haul in Y was in 2005 on the free AA systemwide tickets. This game has certainly spoiled us.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

If I'm being honest, I do hope to fly some long haul Y in the distant future, because if I'm not, I'm probably not flying at all.

+1 not too easy flying a few times a year booking 3-4 seats in j. Those points go a lot quicker than you think. Unless you’re Dan & you have a stock of miles for the rest of your life.

@Dan do you see a time in the not so distant future where you’d have to even hesitate booking F or even  j?

CLE-YYZ-PVG-SIN-MLE-W all economy plus a seaplane

Left at 6:40am Sunday morning arrived around 1PM Tuesday.

Took about 48 hours door to door. And was definitely worth the 2 days I had in MLE. Return flights were just about the same.

Eta: booked the flight 2 days before leaving. And had some crazy stories along the way.

All within a 10-week span. Didn’t pay more than $229 for any single roundtrip flight.
Thank you, AC.

Is there a TR out there for this? If not please don't tease us, if yes, great marketing.

ZRH-JFK LX a330.

Only long-haul Y ever, and easily the worst flight of my life.

Never again.
