Please tell me you fixed the shut off while you were at it.
Would have, if that was anywhere close to my ability level.
Wait, which thread is this?
Forgot to charge the brake lines first time changing my brakes. Hit the curb and stopped ....
Just changed the cabin air filter and engine air filter on my car. It was really easy, and the effort-to-cost-savings ratio was excellent - cost for having a mechanic replace the 2 together: ~$130. Cost for me to do it myself: ~$20 and 10 minutes.
I'm very not-handy, so a lot of things that might be "easy," would leave me without a working car (or house, as the case may be). This however, truly was easy. Like, anyone can do this.
A few years back I bought a timer for my dining room light. When installing I noticed that the instructions were telling me to connect different color wires that I did not have. After a few hours of frustration and a ton of trips down to the basement to turn on and off the fuse box I finally got it to work. Only problem is my dining room switch now controls the electricity to my living room, outside light and the outlets in my dining and living room.
Some cars can be a pain.
I have a Honda CR-V. My neighbor has a Kia minivan, and he said for the engine air filter he doesn't even need to unscrew anything, it just has clips you can remove.Maybe other cars are worse, though, I don't have any other experience.
