Now that's a real reason (not I have a cert I need to use).

I would probably go back to Acadia NP, even for 3-4 hours.
What about flying out of BGR 2:20 before my already booked flight from PWM? Is it worth it to switch the flight to leave from BGR too?

Seems like you'll need to leave Acadia the same time either way. Is it with $11.20 to you to and yourself 2 hours of driving (to me out would be, plus you'd probably spend that much on gas)
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Yeah, between the gas and the extra time for delays, construction, etc, it makes more sense to forgo visiting another random airport (how many people have PWM on their list of airports they've flown through). Thanks for your help!

+1 I'd definitely go for the BGR over PWM. The airport there is really small and the rental car return is a short walk up to the gates. You'd have to build in more buffer time for traffic heading into Portland (which we encountered, though that was on a busy August sunday, not a Thursday in September. The shul in BGR calls their shachris for 6:45 on weekday mornings (but call them before hand to see whether anything different is being done for Chol Hamoed), but they frequently don't get a minyan.

Yeah, I doubt the traffic at 3pm on a autumn Thursday will compare to an August Sunday.  Either way I switched the flight. I guess I'll probably never get to fly out of a jetport (PWM) :(.

6:45a doesn't bother me, though I'll call again closer to going. When I called a few weeks ago the person who answered didn't know. I usually daven at 5:45a. I'm hoping that on Chol HaMoed they'll get a minyan, since it's Yom Tov. At least maybe they'll have a succah I could use.

So it looks settled then. I'll fly in and out of BGR, and spend both days in Acadia. Assuming there's no scheduled minyan, is sunrise on Cadillac Mountain a thing? SF seemed to go for it but missed out due to the clouds. Is it something that people specifically go early for?

Yes, sunrise is supposed to be incredible of the weather cooperates. I went for sunset in the end, but supposedly it doesn't compare to sunrise.

And BTW, I have PWM on my list ;).

Thanks! I really wanted PWM on mine, but for convenience it'll have to wait. I have a few rare airports on my list though, just not HAV .

Should I post my Maine Mini-TR here in the Maine thread or in a new thread in the TR board?

Now that the boards are separate I'd vote for a separate thread as well.

Ok. Seems silly though for such a short TR of just ~2300 words. It's all written, just up to the longest part: pictures. Should have time tomorrow though.

Hey, who you calling a NYer?  >:(

You.  After a few years, the non-NYness gets covered by the grime of NY. It takes years to wash it back off, although I hear the mikva in Uman helps.

Well you'd be mistaken. My location to the left ⬅  is most accurate.

I never did it with kids, but a nice few years ago I was in Lincoln NH & people were there with kids. There is also family programs in VT

I would guess ben & Jerry ice cream factory in Stowe VT works for kids, although non CY so watch.

I was never in Maine

Acadia NP was amazing! Totally worth a 2-3 day visit. See my Mini TR for details.
