Not ideal. You can drive up Cadillac mountain, go to the beach, and do walking trails but hiking would be tough.
I did it with an infant. This pretty much sums it up. If you are a big hiker, you'd be missing out on that, but there is plenty of driving and regular walking to do.

Why can't you wear you kid on a backpack for bigger hikes? It's not like they have any super technical ones where you'd need you balance or need to swim through water for part of it.

True, see people can, but some may not be as comfortable with that

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. We'll have to find somewhere to try out a proper hiking carrier with our baby, as I have to be confident he'll be able to use one. From past experience, I don't think a regular babybjorn style would cut it for this situation. I think I'd be comfortable hiking with the bigger carrier, as long as we can mix together enough non carrier activities throughout. I just don't want to be such with it for hours at a time.

and end up exactly where YU is?
No thanks.
Vermont also has the same law on the books. Though I'd choose ME over VT

Couple questions:
1) for a two day one night trip what’s best airport to fly into? Good hotel?
2) any kosher food besides for supermarkets?
3) minyanim?
4) best activities for couples with baby?

Looking for end of July middle of the week

I guess that’s part of the question.
If doning only one night then that means flying both days. So if I want to do let’s say Cadillac mountain or Acadia let’s say, then the trip would be very rushed I’m assuming. So would Portland itself be a good place to stay or better to go to bgr and do those kind of places nearby?

I did a trip to BGR from PHL in 2015 (search for the TR) and it was only 2 days/1 night. It was short and the weather was not great the first day, but we staying in a brand new Residents Inn using a free night and went to Acadia both days. We just brought food with us, but we did stop by a Shaw's and saw regular kosher products you can find anywhere. There's a shul in Bangor, but it didn't work out when we went. Almost everything in Acadia is doable with a baby if you have a backpack carrier so you can hike. Otherwise the loop road around the park is nice.

All of my experience aside, I heard about a frum B&B right next to Acadia what includes kosher food that's open during the summer (is, not at succos time when I went) that may be worth looking into.
