I called up to have them link my new checking account to my freedom card.  They kept transferring me back and forth between the credit cards department and the telephone banking department.  I was told that they were unable to link the accounts.  I then asked if they could set up my freedom card to serve as overdraft protection for my checking account.  They were able to do this.  I'm hoping this will successfully link the two together to be eligible for the Freedom Exclusives 10 & 10.

They told me it will happen automatically, within 3 billing cycles.

Do I gain anything by opening a checking account online over going into a branch?
I have a freedom card for a couple of years already... its a shame I didn't know about this when I got the card.
(I guess that's what happens when you don't follow DDF the proper way!)

Is it worth it to apply for freedom and a checking account online now? Any chance of getting on the exclusives before it stops?
Also my license just expired, is it possible they wont pick up if i put a wrong expiry date on the checking application?

Worth a shot IMHO.

They ask for license on application?

I linked mine in a bank and it activated on the spot. I would suggest go to branch and apply there if you get approved they most probally will do it on the spot. + if you expired license better bet the branch if you get a nice rep

Change the issue and exp by YEAR, not by month or day, san they'll likely catch on it since its tied to your DOB.

try. couldn't hurt to have made a mistake....
But if you change month or day they 'll likely catch, also if you move exp. year with 1 year dont move the issue year for more than a year, and so on.

I got approved 11/6. Sent a SM to be enrolled in the Chase Exclusives Program, And this is the answer I got.

Quote
Thank you for contacting us about your Freedom account.

I would like to inform you that existing Chase Freedom
Customers with an open Chase checking account (Consumer or
Business) will be automatically upgraded to the Chase
Freedom Exclusives 10 & 10 products within approximately
1-3 billing cycles. Additionally, notification letters,
rewards brochures, and Terms & Conditions will be mailed
approximately 3-4 weeks after the account has been
upgraded.

I hope the above information helps. If you have any
further questions, please reply using the Secure Message
Center.

Does it mean that I will still be grandfathered in the program? Looking that it was written existing, does it include me? (Didn't get the card yet).

I've never sent a SM, what is the basic SM to have them link the card with the checking to get the exclusives?

I opened a checking last night and got approved for Freedom this morning

I SMed to ask to be signed up for exclusives:

got this response:

I have received your inquiry about the reward points on
your account.

I would like to inform you that, the activation of 10/10
additional points is done in batches. Since you have a
Chase checking account, I request you to allow up to 3
cycles before seeing the new rewards on your statement. We
will notify you, when your account will be enrolled for
the 10 & 10 program.

Wasn't so happy with that terminology, as it didnt seem like i would be for sure moved across

i messaged back trying to get a better response and to see about when they would be closing it

Thank you for contacting Chase.

We have not received any information that the Chase
Exclusive rewards program will be discontinued. Kindly
allow 1 to 3 billing cycles for the enhanced program to
set up on your account.

I think we came out that if you get this message you are good. My suggestion to all the people that are worried that they will not be enrolled on time. Go to a branch and ask them to enrol you and they most probably will tell you (I know me and some others they did) that you are officially enrolled in the chase exclusive program. And you don't have to worry anymore or post anymore since a chase rep told you your enrolled. Ta Da:)

I'm opening a checking account online to link with my freedom card.
Am I better off opening it with a Debit card deposit or transferring funds direct from the account that's linked to the freedom card for payment?
