I got the Freedom this past Friday. Today I sent an SM requesting them to link the accounts, they said I need to go to a local branch to have it done. I replied that I can't make it during business hours, can they please do it? Was shot down again as "it will happen automatically in 2-3 billing cycles". I sent 1 final SM requesting expedition and was denied again. I then walked in to a branch and asked them to do it. After running my info and conferring with a colleague, the branch rep told me that Chase Total Checking no longer qualifies for Exclusives unless if you are grandfathered in. Otherwise you need a Premier Checking account.  Any one know if there is any validity to this, or was it just a clueless rep. Totally sucks if true, it played a big factor in my choosing this card.

Try calling?  Or wait for it to happen automatically?

Did they show you any proof of this new policy?

This reminds me of Sprint's CS. Shame on Chase, I'd expect better from them, though like I said:

Chase has made it so complicated that even their employees can't answer your questions.

I called in and was told that it applies to any checking account, but there is no way to expedite the process. "I don't even have any button anywhere that would allow me to do it." He guaranteed that it would happen automatically after 3 billing cycles.

yea after calling a few different departments and getting shuffled around I was told to go down to a branch. Went down to a branch and the banker had me sit for 45 minutes to no avail. Said hed call me when it was linked, never called. I called him back, he said it takes 1-2 cycles. I then sm'ed and was informed likewise. Im just going to wait. Maybe Ill complain via SM and get some free points (if that has any chance).

Anyone know of any charities online that you can donate .01 to? Most seem to have minimums. Or things you can buy online for .01? I am assuming these don't exist because they will end up losing on the deal do to interchange. Is that correct? Tried to pump .01 worth of gas (my finger was too fast, i ended up with 3 cents at citgo) but I think they charged me 1.00 for the transaction. Oh well, live and learn.
Obviously the idea is 10 cents for a .01 transaction would be a nice income especially if repeatable.
I am incredibly bored, and cheap :)

Not sure. It's a $1.00 pending, there is a chance you are right.

It's just a hold.  You'll only be charged .03.

Send the SM to rewards inquiry>Ultimate Rewards.

I don't see this option in my SM message options. Where can I find this?

Thanks, but that's not very descriptive. Is there any more concrete way for me to find it?

I don't see this option in my SM message options. Where can I find this?

It's a in a subsection of SM, not necessarily in your first choice of options.
In the SM section, under My Personal Accounts, next to Credit Card, select "Rewards Inquiry" from the dropdown box, click "Go".  In the next screen that appears, next to Select a Topic, choose "Ultimate Rewards Program Inquiry".
