I politely SMed to have the Exclusives points added for the 1st 2 months and got this response:

Quote from: Chase CSR
Let me inform you, I have reviewed your account and confirmed the rewards posted correctly. The February 15, 2012 statement had an ending rewards balance of 1,014 points. The January 16, 2012 statement indicates we transferred a total of 194 points as the account was traded to the new program on January 11, 2012.

With Chase Freedom Ultimate Rewards i.e. your old rewards program, you earned 1 point or percent for every $1 in net purchases, 2 points or percent for every $1 spent on qualifying airfare purchases made through our online booking tool, and up to 5 points or percent per $1 spent when participating in quarterly bonus promotions.

With Freedom Exclusives i.e. your new rewards program, you'll earn 1 point on all purchases, 2 points on qualifying travel purchases made through the Ultimate Rewards Travel Booking Tool, and an extra bonus on all spending that includes 1 point for every $10 of net purchases and an additional 10 points for each individual net purchase.

For example, if you made a $200 purchase anywhere, you would earn 200 points + 20 points + 10 points = 230 points.

The (Indian) rep had apparently misunderstood my request and thought I was pointing out that I never got any points, rather than just for the 1st 2 months. So I tried again, more vociferously this time. This was the 2nd response:

Quote from: Chase CSR
I received your email inquiry regarding reward points not posting to your Chase Freedom Exclusives account.

After review, I noticed that your account was upgraded from the Chase Freedom card to the Chase Freedom Exclusives card on 01/12/2012, any rewards earned prior to this date will earn rewards as per the regular Chase Freedom rewards program. I also noticed that there were 30,000 bonus points issued on your 12/16/2011 statement as per the sign up bonus offer for your Chase Freedom card. All your purchases post 01/12/2012 will earn the rewards of the Chase Freedom Exclusives reward program, hence you see the additional points added to your 02/15/2012 statement as it was calculating rewards post 01/12/2012.

Any suggestions what to do now?

First try = fail.

Please be informed that once you open a checking account
with Chase your card is a Chase Freedom ultimate rewards
card and will automatically change to Chase Exclusive 10 &
10 benefits which has a different rewards structure.
However, you will earn 10% bonus only for the purchases
that are made after the upgrade is done. The purchases
made before the card has changed to freedom 10*10 will not
earn ant bonus.

Second try = great success.

I am writing in response to your email regarding the
rewards inquiry on your Chase Freedom card account.

I am pleased to advise that I did add 1,268 points to the
account number noted above. You will see this adjustment
on the next statement. This adjustment is available for
redemption now.

Confirmation Number: xxxxxx
New rewards balance is yyyyy

I just copied and pasted my first SM, word for word, in to a new SM.
I was also able to get the bonus points for my IB added on the first try.

I just got my first statement from my Freedom card and I didn't get an 10*10 Exclusives bonuses I SMed for an explanation and this is what I got in reply:

Quote
Dear,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your
inquiry in regard to the Freedom Exclusives 10&10 reward
program.

Please be advised, existing Chase Freedom customers with
an open Chase checking account will be automatically
upgraded to the Chase Freedom Exclusives 10&10 products
within approximately one to three statement cycles from
the open date of the credit card.

We understand that you have an active checking account
with Chase before your credit card was approved. However,
your Freedom card ending in **** was opened in February
2012, therefore, it is currently not enrolled for
Exclusive 10/10 program as it would be done automatically
within one to three statement cycle. Please note, till
the switch is not completed you will continue to receive
points as per your existing rewards program.

Further, the notification letters, rewards brochures, and
terms & conditions will be mailed approximately three to
four weeks after the account has been upgraded and then
you will start earning your rewards based on the 10/10
promotion.

I hope I was able to clarify this information. If you
have any further questions, please reply using the Secure
Message Center.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the

Thank you,

What can I do now?

Wait.
Is it worth sending a SM asking to be credited the missing points? Or should I wait and then send it?

Wait until the first time you get a statement that has the bonus on it.  After that you can send an SM to attempt to be credited the "missing" points.  I put that in quotes because they're not obligated to give you those points, although several people (including myself) have reported being able to get them....and it appears that different reps follow different rules.

Do the Chase Exclusives bonuses work retroactively?
I have the CC's but I don't bank with Chase.
I am planning on opening an account with them this week though.
Once my Chase Exclusives get activated, will I get bonuses for all PAST CC spend? Or only from then on?

Officially no.  However, after Exclusives are added to your account, you can SM them to ask for the points you otherwise would have received if Exclusives were added to your account on the first day of having both the proper CC and checking account.  It's a big YMMV though and there's a thread around here somewhere discussing it.
