What if I said, "you diabetics take controlling your sugar levels too far"? Or "you people with deathly nut allergies take checking ingredients too far"?

We are not people who follow a religion. We are people whose very souls, our very essence, is bound with G-d. Every moment of our lives we are striving to feed that connection, to strengthen, enhance, and reveal it. It is life itself.

Imagine you meet a group of high powered executives who work 120 hour work weeks, and say, "you people talking working too far." They might respond, "sure, we overdo it now, but soon we'll retire and we'll spend our days on beaches and golf courses." Compare that to minimum wage employees working a dangerous job for the same hours on a meat packing line, if you said, "you people take working too far," they might respond, "What choice do I have? I have a whole family at home that needs to eat. If I don't do this, we starve."

One is doing a job for the benefits it will accrue, the other's job is connected to life itself.
I don't think people realize that this is a continuation of the discussion started here -

Do you all realize this wasn't meant as example against any one religion?

Context is everything. A non Jew posting that on a primarily Jewish forum would be taken to mean:
You people = Jewish DDFers
Religion = Judaism

If your intent is different, you need to specify

I, for one, didn't understand your question as being about "you people". I took it at face value.

“You people” can be racist even if it is innocuous. Asking a black - “do you people like pizza?”  There’s no reason to group a black with other blacks when it comes to something completely unrelated to blacks. There’s no reason they should lose their individuality just because they’re black.

“Do you people need to wear sunscreen?” (Dumb example but assume it is asked innocently) is asking a relevant question to a black person, grouping them with others with the same skin color is not racist.
Visibly Jewish

https://www.sefaria.org/Sanhedrin.97b.9?ven=William_Davidson_Edition_-_English&vhe=Wikisource_Talmud_Bavli&lang=bi
The Gemara asks: What is the meaning of the phrase “And it declares [veyafe’aḥ] of the end, and does not lie”? Rabbi Shmuel bar Naḥmani says that Rabbi Yonatan says: May those who calculate the end of days be cursed [tippaḥ], as they would say once the end of days that they calculated arrived and the Messiah did not come, that he will no longer come at all. Rather, the proper behavior is to continue to wait for his coming, as it is stated: “Though it tarry, wait for it.” Lest you say we are expectantly awaiting the end of days and the Holy One, Blessed be He, is not awaiting the end of days and does not want to redeem His people, the verse states: “And therefore will the Lord wait, to be gracious to you; and therefore will He be exalted, to have mercy upon you; for the Lord is a God of judgment; happy are all they who wait for Him” (Isaiah 30:18).
I do not feel one way or the other about when he will come but fervently hope he comes right away.

Where does the Torah say after all that we should have an emotional feeling for the torah? Amirite? :P

How do you hope for something with all your might and not feel that it's going to happen soon?

Even lihavdel a sports fan will think their team is going to win, willing to bet money on it, because they root for them.

But somehow you manage to keep the feeling of hope separate from your emotions. Meaning you can "hope for it to happen" but not think it's going to happen soon. It's impressive and should earn a badge for a litvak yekka.
