PC friday question of the day.
« on: August 09, 2019, 09:49:36 AM »
Does market value of an item equal fair value? What say you.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Yes.
So in times of crisis if the price gets jacked up 1000% you would say that is a fair price?

Just for arguments sake there is another factor contributing to this "crisis" and its cost.

at 2x/3x on a MC/VGC promo the $ is made on CC spend even before the Fuel points come into play.

at 8x happy. if you sell HD at 91 which is where the market is at right now for most sellers cost is $33.75 per fill-up before accounting for CC points.

There are other options but they are hard to make work on any sort of scale as some retailers have really began cracking down.

Fair? Yes.
If it is fair then why are there laws against it?
So you believe getting the most you can for something is a fair price for that item? That sounds more like greed, no?

Immoral and disgusting? Also yes.
So in times of crisis, it’s fair to do things that are immoral and disgusting?

Why if someone crashes into someone, and the person has to go to the hospital, leaving his car in middle of the road can he get a ticket or fine? Laws in America have nothing to do with fair.
The most you can get is fair price. And sometimes also greed.
I'm not who you think I am.

Life's fair game. If you're unhappy you can vote for Bernie Sanders. If it is bad enough and the government felt that someone NEEDS water that you have they can declare martial law

no only in NY will they ticket you for that. everywhere else even if they ticket you for that you can probably get it dismissed.

The whole idea I this particular case is to get a discount for gas. As long as buyers are getting a discount, it is a fair price. Noone is obligated to buy. Raising prices for goods because of a people are stick with no choice is completely different

What about paying the least you can for an item? Is that a fair price or is that greed?

IINM price gauging laws only exist for items that are necessities. everything else you can charge whatever people are willing to pay
and how can something be called price gauging if its less that what it costs on the street .
price gauging has absolutely nothing to do with the sellers profit margins

You mean like buying something from a little old lady because she doesn't know the price of it. Yes that is 100% greed.
