Do you brush your teeth with warm or cold water.

Had a heated argument about this recently, neither side able to understand the others position. Reminded me a lot of the politics thread.

What's wrong with either option?
Are you referring to wetting the toothpaste on the brush or rinsing your mouth afterwards?

For rinsing I would usually use warm but cold is fine too.

Iinm It's considered squeezing the water out of the bristles. They make a shabbos toothbrush with rubber bristles that have gaps between each one

I can add that to the list of things I don't like about shabbos

It's less jolting in the morning to have warm water. Plus in the winter my hands get frozen

It's not like I enjoy the taste of toothpaste, so when I'm rinsing I have a much stronger flavor in my mouth. Never even noticed the warm water tasting bad. And when I'm done rinsing, the flavor is gone. Also maybe it's just psychological, but warm/hot is associated with cleaning better.
