So, anytime someone says a Rabbi has common sense, you interject, well actually this Rabbi covered for abusers...?
Also the real question began with someone who smacked his misbehaving child, not abuse.
So you can smack your kid around and that is not abuse?
I say smacked you misbehaving child, you say smack your kid around.
No, I was responding directly to @Yehuda57 's comment that 'Senseless' Rabbis were the ones reporting it, I simply countered that there were equally senseless Rabbis who covered it up.
How did this thread go from careless drivers to rabbis covering up abuse? You guys remind me of my five year old.
So smacking a misbehaving child around is not abuse?NOUNa sharp slap or blow, typically one given with the palm of the hand.ADVERBin a sudden and violent way.
We discussed this. I am of the opinion that its not. But certainly you should agree that there is a difference between the too. Also whether the child misbehaved or not, if the smack came out of anger, it's a different ballgame.
Actually I disagree. The issue is the "smack" not why you smacked him. That comes into to play at sentencing for your abuse.
it's good to be a Lubavitcher
In your opinion, there is never ever a reason to smack your kid?
I didn't say that.
I'm asking your opinion.
Do you really want to know or just a gotcha question?
I want to know
Common sense is wildly subjective.
Methinks this sums up most of the world these days.
Also whether the child misbehaved or not, if the smack came out of anger, it's a different ballgame.
