One with a tough upbringing shouldn't speak in general.
I'm not familiar with any decent person using a belt, nor am I familiar with anyone violating century old Chumras at his father's Seder table. I'm confused so I won't say anything, but again, my feeling is that you can't speak for the general public.
Century old chumras my a$$. My father is a bt.
In his great grandfather town in Czechoslovakia they were the biggest family and most killed hyd. But none were gung ho chabad.
Also my dad is downright crazy chumros wise, I mean he dries his hands for 4 minutes then insists we eat a kezayit in probably 90 seconds.
You think I'm making this stuff up?!?
Why can't a father simply serve by example, why have you got to force your kids!! And God forbid you don't conform, well, go to your room.
It's been 6 years since ive gone to my parents for Shabbat or chag. I'll go to dozens of friends but never my parents.
Why is it that the non religion Jew is so welcome with love and honey but if you the child the ffb dare do anything to disrupt the order, boom go to your room!
