USPS Hold

So, I put a USPS hold one the mail, yet some packages seem to be getting delivered, then they eventually go to being held.

I called up the post office, they claim the packages are all being held.


Tracking seems to indicate otherwise.


Is usps tracking accurate at all?

Thanks, i have around 7 packages that are supposedly being held, tracking is quite confusing...

Now, new confusing tracking on a different package.

No one was there to sign, so now tracking says this -

Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)

We attempted to deliver your item at ******* and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by using the Schedule a Redelivery feature on this page or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice beginning October 24th, 2016. If this item is unclaimed by November 1st, 2016 then it will be returned to sender.



Does this mean that they will hold it for me? Or redeliver?

They will hold it by the post office until the 1st. You can go there to pick it up.If you want it redelivered then you have to schedule a redelivery.

If no one was there and they left a notice the sender can not reschedule a delivery only the recipient ( as was my experience with them).

I never used the "hold mail" feature.

Does it really work? And after it ends, do they really deliver everything at once?

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.
