Not an original idea...  Purchase of Greenland was contemplated back in 1946 for $100 million; offer was reportedly turned town by Denmark.  Truman (a dem) was President then.. haha!!

Natural resources. And if global warming happens it'll be prime real estate.
Mexico comes with problems, Greenland barely has anyone living there.
