Everyone,
I have SWA Miles expiring in 6 days.
I read that you can possibly transfer Hertz & Hotel points to SWA to extend life but my research doesn't show that possible.
What's best way to extend?
Thx!

Anyone have experience booking and refunding? Will that extend validity with Southwest?

From the Southwest website:

*Points will remain active as long as you have at least one qualifying earning activity every 24 months. Qualifying earning activity includes 1) completed revenue travel on flights flown through Southwest Airlines® and posted to the Member’s account prior to the expiration date; 2) points earned by transacting with any current Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® partner (including transfers from applicable Rapid Rewards partners and completed Southwest Vacations® hotel stays) and posted to the Member’s account prior to the expiration date; 3) points earned using Rapid Rewards® Credit Cards and through points transferred from Diners Club® and posted to the Member’s account prior to the expiration date and 4) points purchased for personal account use through Southwest.com and posted to the Member’s account prior to the expiration date.

Pursuant to number 4, it would seem that you can purchase 2,000 points for $60 and keep your points active (provided that they post before the expiration date).

why not book something for a month from now (while you transact), then in more than 7 days which is AFTER the current expiration, cancel the ticket. i would think that might work.

spending does not extend southwest points, and if the date of new miles being earned is before the expectation the points will remain active. Is what I was told by an employee but they gave me a 5 miles for asking.

Spend all the points, that way nothing expires, and then cancel after. Will the points come back expired?
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

I know portal discussions are not allowed, but you can just get something small through their shopping portal...

That might not post in 6 days though. And in the T&Cs, I don't see that mentioned as a manner of earning qualifying points to keep points valid, unless it qualifies as "transacting with any current Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® partner".

Should post retroactively. And it should qualify. But don't rely on me.

Perhaps booking a stay via southwest? See sort by lowest price. I see a room for $18 earns you some points
