If they sell the expensive seats at face value.

that will determine HOW many times, but they are going to make many times the cost of the venue regardless. Something to consider: it's going to be in middle of winter so there should be a stronger willingness to pay for a seat that provides indoor access.

This number is way too high, I doubt its anywhere close to that

There is no competition that can offer anything remotely close to the size of Metlife. Why in the world would they charge anything less??

I know the agudah makes money, but their profit is from selling the field level and luxury seating, not from the $18, $36, and $54 seating.

It's also possible that the tisch family donates a lot to Agudah in the form of a subsidy (Co owners of the giants and have someone on the Artscroll board).

Because no one would pay that. Doing some quick online research and to rent out an arena which usually holds 20,000 people the going rate is $20K a night so I dont see anyway metlife is getting 3-4 million

Think about the revenue that any event (Concerts, Sporting events etc.) that could generate for renting out Metlife VS renting out say MSG. MSG has to compete with Barclays etc so it will be relatively more competitive.

So why don't they charge 50 mil? ::)

Blindly? I would guess somewhere between 3 and 4 mill fully staffed. But i have nothing to base that on other than the fact it cost a billion to build. In terms of revenue we are talking about a number many times that.

Logically, and based on some quick research I'd guess cost for Metlife is $5-$10/seat * 80,000 seats = i.e. between $400,000-$800,000. There is probably not a lot of competition for an open stadium on a winter day.

In terms of revenue, If you assume average seat price  at the siyum is $75 * 80,000 = $6 million in revenue, so they should walk away with a nice profit, even after heavy marketing.

It's hard to find a better cause. They do what no one can do in Washington DC, Albany etc, and if you wanted to try to evaluate that in dollar terms, I'd guess they save the broader community and especially schools at least many tens of millions of dollars a year.

I thought I remember hearing last time around that the rain insurance alone was a few hundred k.. which would only make sense if the rental was in the range of $4m..  just making a quick cheshbon I'd imagine there's well over 1000 MetLife employees at the event.. prob 7-8 hours of work prior, during & post... Even at minimum wage that's already 70-80k.. they're likely union workers which prob triples whatever wage they should really be paid.. & thats before anything else..

Duh, this is DDF, when was the last time we had a discussion about something someone actually knew something about?

They are charging 100k a suite and have to imagine the median price per ticket will be far higher

Yes, the Agudah does so much for schools that I still pay $16,000 for tuition in the Five towns. And when Yeshivas in Flatbush get money for PreK they still charge full tuition to parents. I would love to see a list of actual accomplishments of the Aguda.

Is 16000 supposed to be high or low and on what basis are you saying this?

That the number is high? That is feels high to you does not qualify as an answer. If the cost of the school per child is 20k and you are only paying 16k because of government funding then you are getting a great value possibly because of the Agudah.

I made no claims as to whether it was high or low. You seem to feel it is high. How do you know it is less than that?

I heard that they will be releasing more cheaper seats in the near future.
