Funny you say that. Why do 40% of the  speeches (and probably 60% of the speech time) have to be in a language that not everyone understands? Enough with the mesorah crap it’s a European language with absolutely nothing special about it.

But at least a subset of people can feel elite for the extra 20 minutes that the Yiddish speakers need to ramble on.

Why are you making a big deal? Did you see the program for the Barclay center Siyum Hashas?!?! They are having at least 3 Chasidish Rebbas speaking there! (Viznitz, Kossov, Vyelopol & maybe more) so don't think they are discriminating against Chassidim! Besides the 2 Chasidish speakers in MetLife.

As a Sephardi, you can demand speeches in Hebrew.
And for Ashkenazim, it's a lot more than a "European language."
