So in Sikum:
1) Sign up 5 lines with data plan for 6 MDB's @ $99.96/monthly ($2400 for 24 months)
2) Switch lines to 5 ghetto VZW phones and cancel data packages online
3) Sell 5 MDBs for ~$3000
4) Ebay Fees, Shipping, 24 mos of VZW Taxes will likely be ~$500

...so you are netting $100?...

Is this only worth it if you actually want a line anyway, or am I missing something here?

The point as far as I understood if if you already have say an existing VZW plan and you can add say 3 lines to your plan for less than $800 for 3 years while selling the 3 phones for $1,800.
Plus you have 3 lines to rent out if you want.

you're saying that as long as I request area codes in Nevada, they'll charge me nevada taxes even if I just told them that I love in Maryland?

Numbers can be changed at anytime.

Sprint might calculate taxes differently. It seems (from what Dan is saying) that VZW taxes you based on the phone's area code.

On a side note, for companies (like Sprint) who tax according to the billing address, try to be as rural as possible to avoid city/county taxes.

My Sprint taxes are based (mostly) on my billing address. I get charged <$0.20/month for county taxes for prior billing addresses, but otherwise it's all for my current address. The small errors are negligible, so I don't make a stink.

We had an NYC area code on one line of our old Sprint plan and were charged a nice amount in taxes for having that line despite having an OH billing address.
