I don't pay high taxes (since I switched the billing address)

Gotcha. Probably would be even lower though if you switched the area codes as well.

Nah, I prefer to take the minor hit and keep my area code. My taxes are ~6% of my bill total, compared to the 20%+ other people are paying I think I'm doing ok.

I got my phones, and they all come with sim cards. Can I switch the lines to phones that don't take sim cards? If not does anyone know of some really cheap verizon sim card phones?

You don't need SIM cards for use on VZW's US network, the SIMs are generally used for roaming.

They sent you sim cards so they can bill you for roaming when you're out of the US.

when i was on verizon 5 years ago, i moved from nj out of state. for the first year i was paying nj and the new states taxes. one phone call got me paying only nj taxes which were cheaper. it's all in how they type it in.

Also you can always get any area code you want. No address is needed.

So I officially hate hate hate verizon.
But unfortunately I made the mistake of going for this deal. The thing that's driving me nuts is that I'm paying close to $50 in taxes every month. The taxes go based on the billing address. Does anyone know if I can just pick a random address in Vegas as my billing address and get the lower taxes? Is there any way that they check to see if you really have anything to do with the address? If not I'd like to just google and address and switch to it, it could save me around $40 a month? Has anyone done this?

How do you know the taxes are based on billing address? Maybe you Just didn't pick a good area code?

I tried switching the area code and it didn't change anything. I called verizon and they said that it goes based on billing address? Do you think Chabad in vegas would care if I sent it to them? I'm open to ideas

I was just playing with my account online and I found that there's something called the service address which I could technically set to be different that the billing address. I don't know if the taxes go based on the service address or the billing address. Anyone have any experience with this, and am I raising red flags if my billing and service addresses are different?

i did sign up for paperless statements. that only makes them send my statements paperless. I still continue to get letters about changes to the account in the mail. I hope the address I sent it to in vegas doesn't mind and just throws it in the trash.
Anyone know if its possible to get everything paperless?

Can we get an update? Did the taxes drop after you switched the address to vegas? If yes, how much of a savings is it?
