Root canal

Anyone have success in getting Medicaid to cover a root canal?
I have UHC Community plan, and got the initial denial letter (they say they only cover if the dentist can show the back teeth don't touch when biting).
On the letter it says that I might be able to get regular Medicaid to cover, does anyone know anything about that?

AFAIK they don't cover it for adults.

I believe there might be a few dentists on DDF, they might have more accurate answers. Check https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=17327.0

Related note, make sure you choose a highly rated dentist, a bad root canal can be the "root" of evil for life.

Correct, unfortunately I'm dealing with the consequences now.
Either risk getting it redone $2,500 or extraction either way not in a position I wanna be. Oh and the pain until I get it done...

You can get it done in the clinic in colombia and mt sinai it is students that do the work. Typically they do a good job

should be covered. But it is somewhat challenging to get appointment also now (i believe july)they graduate so its the new crew . You don't get an appointment for a root canal and they start right away
1st is a consultation.
Then it can be 2 or more visits.

Fidelis will cover if they do a preapproval. The dentist's staff have to be aggressive and know the right things to say.
