Believe limit is 20kg for personal use, unless by plane is different than by land.
Must declare
Jews ≠ Zionists
Palestinians ≠ Hamas
Satmar ≠ SatmarHQ

If you tell them that Kosher meat isn't so available, they usually don't have a problem.

You have done this before? Declare it and then explain this when they question you? I see NY and NJ is on there restricted state list to bring in poultry even less than 20 kg

As Alexsei mentioned there's a 20KG limit/person Inspection Canada site.
Quote
Permitted only if accompanied into Canada by you (cannot be brought in by mail or courier).
Packages must have identifying marks, indicating what the product is.
Proof of country of origin is required (label showing Product of USA is acceptable).
Please see Restriction on imports of live birds, bird products and by-products from states affected by Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in the United States.
Please note that during outbreaks of avian disease (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease), poultry products and by-products may be refused entry from certain states. In addition, if the product is not labelled with the state of origin by the manufacturer it may be denied entry.

20 kg

While I've brought in meat and poultry before, that was prepared food, so that was permitted and I had no issues, but I don't ever recall transporting raw meat/poultry so can't help you with that, sorry.

Generally meat and chicken is allowed up to 20 KG. Poultry is currently restricted because of the avian flu restrictions, but I think it goes according to the state in which the poultry was "sourced, processed, or packaged". I have no idea where the chicken in NY comes from but if you can find chicken that's labeled as a product of a state not listed here I assume you should be okay.

I didn't hear from any enforcement at the land border however you should probably make sure it's clearly labeled as originating from a state not on the restricted list

My parents have brought tons (not literally) of raw meat/chicken to Canada  from the US and they declare it.  They have never had a problem.

Although, I do always tell them to ensure the sticker says where the meat is from.

Yes we do plan to. Anything not to be missed there? So far we just booked the Columbia Icefield Adventure. Is it worth it? Anything else?

Thank you! I'm wondering if anything changed since the restricted states started. Now NY/NJ is restricted for poultry and that's where my chicken will be from.

Does anyone have any DPs re: non citizens on whether the 20kg limit is on top of the general duty free exemption or is that simply in terms of food safety but value would still need to be declared and duties paid? Or is there no duties because it's for personal consumption?
