It is theft, they knew the money is not theirs, and the bank will eventually find the mistake.

Wow. They literally blew through that money in a week. That is nuts. Yes, clearly they were stupid enough and immoral enough to try and get away with it.

I personally know someone that had this with Chase. Amount 30k.

3 years later Chase deducted the 30k for his account..

Exactly.

He called Chase and they told him that it was for the overpayment...he basically got a free 30k loan for 3 years
